Today, April 12th 2022, Burlington’s Community Planning, Regulation & Mobility Committee “Received & Filed” the Waterfront Hotel Planning Study (PL-28-22), and Burlington’s City Council unanimously approved the Planner’s Recommendation (PL-24-22) to REFUSE the Burlington 2020 Lakeshore application.
Citizens’ PLAN B delegated on both matters, and was rewarded with favourable decisions.
The Waterfront Hotel property owner now has 20 days to decide whether to appeal this decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal, which in our opinion, he most surely will.
It’s going to be a long road for Burlington to direct and secure a landmark development that meets appropriate Land Use & Built Form, Public Realm, and Mobility and Access design principles for this premier site. It may take years, but we at Citizens’ PLAN B are persistent in advocating for what we believe is right for Burlington residents and visitors, now & for generations to come.
