We’re referring to the Waterfront Hotel redevelopment file, of course. Sorry!

Now that the Burlington 2020 Lakeshore Inc. application has been deemed complete as of December 17th, 2021, the City has 120 days to process this application or until April 16th, 2022. There are only three possible responses that Burlington can provide:

  1. Approve,
  2. Approve with Modifications, or
  3. Reject

There are several important public meetings that are now scheduled for February that we will (and you should) participate in.

A virtual Open House on the Waterfront Hotel Planning Study is scheduled for 7 pm, Tuesday, February 15th. Commencing in early 2017, the City engaged with the residents of Burlington to gather our opinions and feedback on various proposals for this development, and while there have been some pauses, this initiative has been fired up recently to synch with the application processing schedule. To be clear, the Waterfront Hotel Planning Study report will be informative (not determinative) to the application approval, but it’s intended to be a representation of what residents think.

In addition, a critical Statutory Public Meeting to review & provide input on the actual Waterfront Hotel redevelopment application is scheduled for 6:30 pm Tuesday, February 22nd. PLAN B strongly believes that this proposed development is out of place & out of proportion, and we have already registered to delegate. You are also encouraged to delegate, or just write to the Mayor and/ or your Ward Councillor to voice your opinion.
